Sandy’s homeless Pets

You should donate if you can, but if at all possible, do it locally and know where your money goes and what it is used for.  Smaller local organizations will get much more bang for your buck.

It’s unfortunate that the large organization can no longer be trusted with my money.  Every time I think of the resources available to organizations like the HSUS and ASPCA to actually save lives it depresses me.  But after the abuse of funds of HSUS in the Katrina disaster, and the ASPCA inability to get to no kill with a single animals shelter, I cannot help them do what they could do best if they want to.  Save animals affected by Hurricane Sandy.

There are many ways to know your time and efforts go to actually saving the life of a homeless pet.  If you live in the areas affected and see a stray, consider that animal may be lost and separated from its family.
